Mari Kuoppamaa has training in palaeoecology with a background in studying the history of the Arctic vegetation. She has been working in several international projects that focused on reindeer herding and climate change effects in Nordic countries and Russia. Mari works as a coordinator in the Saami Climate Council secretariat at the University of Oulu.

Ulla Vesteri has studied human rights and peace research. In her Master’s thesis she studied the effects of climate change on the human security. Ulla works as a secretary in the Saami Climate Council secretariat at the University of Oulu.
